November 17, 2006 featured Rick Merritt of
Elliott D. Pollack and Company discussing the driving factors of
growth and development opportunities in Pinal County.
October 13, 2006 featured the Pinal
Partnership Committee hosted panel regarding the advantages and
challenges of incorporating trails and open space in the development
process.
September 8, 2006 featured Pat Graham, President of Arizona Nature Conservancy
and Bradley Wright, the Vice President and Legal Counsel for SunCor Development Company
with a discussion of upcoming ballot measures 105 and 106 regarding
state land trust reform.
July 14, 2006 featured RL Brown discussing
prospects for the housing market in Pinal County to an over flow
crowd. According to Mr. Brown, we are clearly in
a market correction especially compared to 2005. However, compared
to previous years, such as 2003, we are still in a state of steady
growth. After the current supply surplus is absorbed, the steady
growth will continue. However, tough strategy and pricing changes
are needed by sellers and builders in order to produce the supply
correction. They key is, the market is still full of buyers. They
just need the right product at the right price.
June 2, 2006 featured Grady Gammage of the
Morrison Institute discussing the report on Superstition Vistas
including methodology and findings. Click

He was followed by George Hoffman, City
Manager in Apache Junction, discussing development plans for Lost
Dutchman Heights, the first phase of development for Superstition
Vistas.
May 5, 2006 featured a panel
discussion on creative funding options for building transportation
infrastructure.
April 7, 2006 featured Mayors and City
Managers from Casa Grande, Eloy, and Maricopa. The discussion was on
the challenges facing these emerging cities as well as ideas for
developers to be work with cities in dealing with those challenges.
March 3, 2006 featured Dennis Smith of MAG.
He discussed the vision of the last 40 years that created a
successful Maricopa County as well as the mistakes and pitfalls to

February 10, 2006 featured Mark Winkleman, State
Land Commissioner. Mr. Winkleman talked of the many changes in his
department geared toward growing the value of the state trust land
for the benefit of education in Arizona. Of high interest to Pinal
County was the discussion of the short term and long term
disposition strategy for Superstition Vistas, the vast state trust
land holdings in northeastern Pinal County.
The January 26, 2006 breakfast featured David Wessel
of the Wall Street Journal addressing how global and national issues
relate to the local growth in Pinal County.
